Marc Truffaut

President of the French Federation of Adapted Sports (FFSA)

Marc Truffaut is a central figure of inclusion through adapted sport in France. Committed to the recognition of people with mental or psychological disabilities, he has made the FFSA a key player in the national and international sports movement.

Under his leadership, the federation has strengthened its institutional partnerships, developed its high-level disciplines, and brought the voice of athletes from adapted sport to the heart of major sports venues. Tireless defender of a truly universal parasport, he advocates for the full and complete integration of adapted sport in the Paralympic Games. He is also president of Virtus, a global reference body on these issues.

Marc Truffaut embodies a demanding and deeply human vision of sport, considering each athlete as a full-fledged citizen, worthy of recognition, respect and visibility on the greatest stages.

Sandrine Chaix

Vice President of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region delegate for disability

Deeply committed to a more just society, where each person, regardless of their disability, has their place, their voice, their horizon. Since 2016, she has steered the regional disability policy with determination, placing listening to life experiences at the heart of public action.

Passionate about the field, close to families, educators, associations and athletes alike, Sandrine Chaix has an inclusive vision of sport as a lever for emancipation. Mom, an activist for the human bond, she refuses half-measures. Through the wish for the integration of adapted sport in the 2030 Paralympic Games, voted during the Plenary Assembly of June 2024 at the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, it calls for combining political ambition with respect for singularities.

Thomas Girard

High-Level Athlete in Adaptive Alpine Skiing

A specialist in adaptive alpine skiing, Thomas Girard has established himself as a leading competitor in the Virtus International Championships. At the 2025 World Championships in Tignes, he achieved several notable podium finishes, confirming his potential in a demanding discipline where speed and precision are combined with total commitment. With several national titles and honorable mentions in international competitions already under his belt, he is one of the most promising athletes in French adapted alpine skiing.

Thomas is a staunch advocate for the Paralympic Winter Games to finally officially welcome athletes with intellectual disabilities. For him, 2030 represents a unique opportunity to show the world that adapted sports are high-level sports in their own right and that sporting excellence thrives on diversity.
